Just a few things I noticed when I landed in Dubai International Airport at 5am on the 30th of June, 2008 - Extremely hot- it was 33 degrees celsius at 5am when the plane was landing.
- Hive of activity- the airport is obviously a transit point for a large number of people, its almost like the noah's ark of modern day times with the exception that this ark has multiple gates, every nationality can be spotted here.
- Concrete jungle- at a few hundred feet in the air all you see is one concrete building after another, may be I was looking in the wrong place.
- A symbol of modern day consumerism- there are shops on every corner of the airport, there is even a seafood bar. I wonder what they serve? squid cocktail.
